Alameda Acupuncture is a group of Traditional Chinese Medical practitioners led by Dr. John Nieters, L.Ac. DAOM. Our practitioners work cooperatively and coordinate care. Our patients have the option to come in six days a week including some evenings and know that we can provide care a moment's notice. This is especially helpful with urgent care orthopedics, colds and flu and in integrative fertility treatments. Offerings include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, moxabustion, custom herbal prescriptions, supplements, dietary therapy, tui na orthopedic massage, chi nei tsang abdominal massage, exercise and diet plans and cutting edge low-cost laboratory testing, free educational workshops and seminars designed to promote community and sustain the effects of treatment.

About Us
Dr. John Nieters, L.Ac. is best known for treating chronic and degenerative health conditions, he also has tremendous clinical experience with orthopedic injuries and fertility. Dr. Nieters values education. He has taught herbal medicine and herb-drug interactions, TCM Gynecology and Fertility, Advanced Chinese Medical Theory, Integrative Diabetes Treatments, Orthopedics and Pain Management, Eastern and Western Nutritional Therapy, and more at several acupuncture colleges in the United States. In 2011, John took over as President of the third oldest acupuncture college (ACCHS) in the United States, following in the footsteps of his mentor, Sifu Tsui Wei. John delights in creating focused custom herbal formulas for his patients and in seeing the transformative effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine, by itself or in combination as an integrative approach to health care.

Lynn Belcher, L.Ac. focuses on acupuncture and tui na massage for orthopedics and sports injuries. Lynn loves dance and somatics, so she appreciates the value of peak performance and uses Traditional Chinese Medicine to restore body function and heal injuries. Lynn also has considerable experience in Fertility treatments and in using Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage.

Phil Settels, L.Ac. focuses on Classical Style of Chinese Medicine including acupuncture in combination with Shang Han Lun style herbalism. Phil also has a passion for teaching and often can be found tutoring and teaching at ACCHS and at Alameda Acupuncture's Wellness Education Center. As a lifelong athlete, Phil developed a great appreciation for sports medicine and orthopedics. He is now enjoys being on the opposite side of this clinical interaction, and is passionate about the usefulness of acupuncture and Chinese herbs in treating pain and injury.


Philosophy
Inspired by the level of integration offered in Chinese hospitals, John strives to offer integrative health care to his patients, within the scope of his practice. Some areas that might be covered in addition to the standard focus of Traditional Chinese Medicine are: herb/drug interactions, lifestyle changes, western medical laboratory results, in-depth nutritional advice, and timely referral to other practitioners when appropriate for optimal patient care.
